Rahat Indori truly a People’s Poet: Prof Tariq Mansoor

Aligarh: ”Rahat Indori was truly a people’s poet who always showed his deep concern for the sufferings of the common man. He used his creative dexterity to register protest against violence and injustice”, said Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) while paying tributes to the eminent poet.

The Aligarh fraternity deeply mourns his demise and his protest poetry infused a new dimension to the contemporary Urdu poetry. ”Rahat Indori left an indelible mark on Mushaera and Urdu poetry and; his poetry will continue to inspire new generations”, added Prof Mansoor.
