Sixty Eight thousand people benefitted under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana; Rs. 102 crore transferred by single click
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the welfare of poor is the topmost priority of our government. Roti, Kapda and Makaan are the basic requirements. It is every person’s dream to have their own house. To accomplish this, the state government is working hard with determination. Our citizens, who do not possess houses, are being helped to build houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This endeavor will continue. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan transferred Rs. 102 crore today, the fourth and final installment to the account of 68 thousand beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rural through single click.
In the programme organized at Mantralaya, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that so far the construction of 17 lakh houses has been completed, out of 20 lakh 30 thousand houses in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). The target was 6 lakh houses in the year 2019-20, out of which 3 lakh 45 thousand houses have been completed. There is no need to be disappointed, who have not got houses. They will also be provided the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through Awas Plus.
House warming programme to be organized on September 12
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the house warming programme is being organized on September 12, for the beneficiaries, whose house construction has been completed. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Delhi and he himself from Bhopal will attend the virtual programme. This programme will be celebrated as a festival in all gram panchayats. Shri Chouhan said that the message of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be broadcast on September 12 at 11 a.m. He appealed all gram panchayats to hear this address.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan further stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and myself aim to ensure welfare of all the poor and to provide them all facilities. Union and state government is constantly active in this direction. On coming September 16, ration distribution will be started to 37 lakh people of the state. In the same sequence, Rs. 4 thousand 600 crore towards crop insurance scheme will be deposited in the accounts of farmers on September 18.
Chief Minister interacts with beneficiaries
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through video conferencing. Shri Gulab Singh of Dhar informed the Chief Minister that he already received the amount in three installments and now he has his own house.

Shri Namdev of Gwalior extended gratitude to the Chief Minister for the house. Noticing the benefits of the various government schemes availed by the people, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gladly told Shri Namdev that ‘Your happiness holds significance in our life’.
Smt. Vishwakarma constructed house in just 49 days
Smt. Sheela Vishwakarma of Betul told the Chief Minister that she completed the house construction in just 49 days. She told that we both husband and wife are labourers. She used to have kuchcha house earlier and were facing many problems besides leaking roof. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the husband and wife together and with the help of relatives completed the construction of house in just 49 days. Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Manoj Shrivastava informed that the average duration of construction of house under the scheme in the country is 114 days. Smt. Vishwakarma informed that a toilet has also been constructed and the house also has facility of gas etc. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he will definitely visit the home of Smt. Vishwakarma for tea.
