TSU is 2nd in Russia in the THE Arts & Humanities ranking
The British Times Higher Education (THE) has published the updated results of the THE World University Rankings by subject. Tomsk State University has risen from the 201-250 group in Arts and Humanities, where it has been since 2017, to the 151-175 group. Among Russian universities, TSU ranks 2nd, after Moscow State University; the third place is shared by HSE and St. Petersburg State University.
The ranking presents the best universities in the world that train specialists in art, languages, history, philosophy, theology, architecture, and archeology. Universities are assessed in each of these subjects on five criteria: Teaching, Research, Citations, International Outlook, and Industry Income.
– Strengthening TSU’s position in the ranking is, first, the result of synergy that inevitably arises within a classical university: we have created a fertile ground for the development of interdisciplinary projects, for example, in solving the problem of automated analysis of natural language by linguists. The second important point is the reengineering of the educational process that has been launched at the university. There is a rethinking of the approach to educational programs; a design and analytical session on the search for new educational models, where participants create design projects for future programs, was initiated by the teams themselves, – said the TSU Rector Eduard Galazhinsky.
Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject считается одним из авторитетных мировых рейтингов университетов. Предметный рейтинг ежегодно публикуется журналом Times Higher Education magazine.
TSU also entered the 401-500 group in the Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Health category, confirming last year’s result.
