Lecture on ‘Academic Writing and Quality Research’
Aligarh: “A good research paper validates all hypotheses and readers can decipher the concepts which can be further built on,” said Prof Bhaskar Mukherjee of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
He was delivering an online lecture on ‘Academic Writing and Quality Research’. The web talk is a part of lecture series, ‘New Landscape of Library and Information Science’ organised by the Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Delineating the writing process and different aspects of communicating research, Prof Bhaskar stressed that regular practice helps to produce good content.
He urged the participants to collect as many references as possible in their research area, to use academic research writing process more as a thinking tool, reviewing the best papers and weeding out the unwanted parts of the research process.
Giving a lucid picture of academic writing, Prof Bhaskar laid emphasis on the integrity of research work and novel and original ideas.
In the welcome address, Dr M Masoom Raza (Chairman, Department of Library and Information Science) expressed that the academic integrity and quality research is a boon of recognition and visibility in today’s competitive world.
“One of the best qualities of good research is that it bring laurels to your institutions,” he added.
Dr Muzamil Mushtaq (Coordinator of the online lecture series) said that 460 advanced students, research scholars, specialists, librarians, and other professionals have registered for the series.
Sixteen online lectures will be delivered by resource persons from across the country during the lecture series, he informed.
