A week without turnstiles “AEM-technologies”
Energy students of the first, third and fourth years took an active part in the events organized within the framework of the All-Russian action “Week without turnstiles” by the Petrozavodsk branch of AEM-Technologies (part of the machine-building division of ROSATOM – Atomenergomash and the Karelian regional branch of SoyuzMash of Russia ).
Students of the first course of the direction “Electric power and electrical engineering” together with teachers of the Department of Energy Supply of Enterprises and Energy Saving NS Skorikova and O.I. Pronina visited the workshop where the equipment for NPPs and GNH is manufactured, and got acquainted with the stages of manufacturing casings of the main circulating pumps (MCP), emergency core cooling systems (ECCS), passive core flooding systems (SPZAZ), etc.
The object that the third-year heat and power engineering students and the fourth-year electrical power engineering students got acquainted with was the boiler house of OJSC Petrozavodskmash, which is the second largest heat supply by a heat supply organization in Petrozavodsk. The students were told in detail about the structure and operation of the boiler house, about the planned modernization works. Students received answers to their questions related to employment, the possibility of internship, as well as topical topics of final qualification works.
Heat and power engineering students of the final year, together with E.A. Zavarkina, Art. Lecturer at the Department of Energy Supply of Enterprises and Energy Saving, took part in the master class “Design Engineer”.
A student, participant of the event, Ksenia Shavyrina, shared her impressions:
We were given brief information on the organization of production at OJSC “Petrozavodskmash” and on the personnel of the enterprise. Three successful specialists in the field of designing parts for the atomic complex told us about their job responsibilities, and also briefly described the specifics of their work.
We were shown the possibilities and peculiarities of using the program for designing and drawing drawings “Compass”, with which we were already very familiar, since we ourselves used it within the framework of the discipline “Engineering and Computer Graphics”. We asked various questions about employment, further education in the magistracy on the basis of the enterprise and various questions about the production itself.
Such events are important because help to understand how the company lives and what we need to do in order to successfully get a job and go our way up the career ladder.
