Academician Olli Lehto, former chancellor and rector of the University of Helsinki, passed away on New Year’s Eve at the age of 95.
The university is flying flags at half-mast for him in Central and Kumpula Campus today.
Olli Lehto was a professor of mathematics who received the title of academician in 1975. In 2009, he was granted the State Award for Public Information for his life’s work.
