ADC inaugurates Kisan Mela at Bandipora
Bandipora: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir on Wednesday inaugurated an Exhibition-cum-Kisan Mela organised by the Department of Agriculture.
On the occasion the department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Fisheries, Apiculture, KVK, Animal Husbandry, and Private Machinery dealers had established their stalls in the Kisan Mela to inspire the unemployed youth towards private sector by showcasing the success stories of successful and progressive farmers.
Scientists from agriculture, KVK and allied sectors shared information with the participating farmers about modern techniques to be adopted in Crop Husbandry, Apiculture, Mushroom Cultivation, and Kitchen gardening and backyard poultry rearing. They were also informed about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the agriculture sector and incentives available under these schemes.
On the occasion ADC visited the stalls set up by the department and allied sectors and interacted with the farmers. He appealed to the people to be in close rapport with the experts of the agriculture and horticulture department and avail benefits of modern technology.
He also appealed to all the participating farmers to come forward and avail the technical knowhow which is being provided to them by the department through qualified agriculture technocrats.
Later ADC Bandipora handed over two tractors, a tiller and an auto rickshaw to the farmers under different schemes on subsidized rates. Four progressive farmers were also felicitated on the occasion for best performance during the last season.
Chief Agriculture Officer Mohammad Rafiq, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Muneer Ahmad, Senior Scientist from KVK Dr Hilal Ahmad and other senior officers besides a large number of farmers were present on the occasion.
