The Learning Management System of AISECT Group of Universities has registered 11,000 students with more than 500 faculty members and more than 6500 classes conducted till May. Universities have facilitated the availability of educational content 24*7 for the students and at their convenience.
It provides the students with live sessions, which are recorded for later use. Each student has profile to avail numerous facilities like pre-recorded lectures, direct interaction with the faculty and other digitised projects. Additionally, students can also track their progress by themselves on their profiles.
The most considerable of the pandemic is the loss of human interaction and accessibility. With a learning Management system in place, students can directly access their respective faculty members for assistance. The digital medium provides a one-to-one discussion space between a student and a faculty member, which might be possible in the physical classroom. On the one hand, the pandemic brought a massive blow to the examination system; LMS filled the evaluation gap for the AISECT Group of Universities. More than 11,000 students digitally appeared for their examination as per their academic calendar.
While the teaching of technical subjects can become difficult through a digital system, however, with the help of the LMS, universities facilitated technical education too. With live classes and doubt solving sessions, the students gain a deeper insight into their technical courses. E-labs, online projects and advanced techniques are also conceptualised and integrated with the LMS to aid the students’ understanding.
The university has taken a big leap to prepare itself digitally to combat crisis. The Learning Management System has also been modified to suit the current education demands; the central integration of subjects, faculty, and examination has changed the students’ learning experience. The teaching experience has also been changed for the faculty as they can now concentrate on individual queries the group. Even though LMS existed in the pre-pandemic era, its efficacy wasn’t truly realised until the outbreak of the pandemic.
