The development of the WorldSkills movement in Russia has become one of the important steps towards changing the system of secondary vocational education in the country. This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Bugaev during the plenary session “The effect of WorldSkills on a national scale: from participation in the championship to the implementation of the national project” at the IX National Championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) – 2021.
“WorldSkills has created a special environment. Today new approaches are being discussed, the project “Professionalism” will become an integral part of secondary vocational education. The demonstration exam as a completely new solution has become one of the important indicators of training young people before applying for a job, ”he stressed.
According to Alexander Bugaev, another important result of the development of the WorldSkills movement in Russia is that more than 60% of the 9th grade graduates choose colleges.
“Modern interesting projects such as WorldSkills have also contributed to the development of this trend, and we must be prepared for the challenges associated with this, ”he summed up.
