Aligarh Muslim University : National Seminar on understanding Quran

Aligarh: “The Holy Quran is the most comprehensive source of reference for humankind to understand the teachings of Islam. Undeniably, understanding the Quran is a principal and an important aspect in the life of Muslims,” said Prof Zafarul Islam Islahi, former Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies.

He was speaking in the inaugural function of the two-day national seminar, ‘How to Understand the Quran’ organised by the K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Prof Zafarul Islam added that the Holy Quran is the book that guides and leads people to the light of faith and knowledge. The Quranic teachings take people out of darkness and ignorance.

Prof A R Kidwai, Director, K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies delivered the welcome address.

Dr Mohammad Mubeen Saleem extended the vote of thanks and Dr Aiyyoob Akram conduct the inaugural function.

The seminar will conclude on March 2.
