Aligarh Muslim University: New issue of Aligarh Journal of Quranic Studies released

Aligarh: The latest issue of the e-Journal of K A Nizami Centre for Qur’anic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University has been uploaded on the Centre?s website. It includes 12 articles, review essays and book reviews on diverse themes related to the Qur?an and Quranic Studies, including Translatability of the Qur’an, the Qur’an and Politics, Women in the Light of the Qur?an, Prophetic Interpretation of the Qur’an, etc.

The contributors to this issue belong to different disciplines, including Quranic Studies, Islamic Studies, Linguistics, Urdu, etc. Two contributors from outside India; Prof Salman Nadvi (University of Durban, South Africa) and Dr Khurshid Ahmad Qadiri (G.C. University, Lahore, Pakistan) ? have also published their academic pieces in this issue, indicating the growing recognition of the journal.

The issue also features Professor Akhtarul Wasey’s (President, Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur) article on the dignified status of women in the Qur?an. Among the faculty members of KA Nizami Centre, Dr Aiyyoob Akram, Qari Hamid Miyan and Gowhar Quadir Wani have also contributed to this latest issue.
