Aligarh Muslim University : Online Workshop on Mooting Skills

Aligarh: Prof M Shakeel Ahmed Samdani, Dean, Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) shared tips on how to develop arguments persuasively and coherently and to effectively integrate facts with legal explanations.

He was addressing the students in an online workshop on ‘Mooting Skills: Memorial Drafting and Oral Presentation’ organised to mark the newly constituted Law Society.

Delineating requisites of mooting skills, Prof Samdani explained how to advocate on behalf of the applicants and respondents and urged the student participants to enhance legal knowledge.

He advised them to attend online workshops and put in the required hard work to hone their competence.

Somya Goyal (Secretary, Moot Court) and Aman Alam (Joint Secretary) explained the essentials for success in moot court competitions.

Ayesha Nasir Alavi (Secretary, Law Society) spoke on the difference between moot court and actual court. Hiba Zaheer (Vice President, Law Society) extended the vote of thanks.

Anubhav Vashihsta, Ekta Varshney, Umaam Siddique and Ayushman Sharma presented arguments in the mock moot court during the virtual workshop.
