Aligarh Muslim University to partner NTF for tourism festival

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will partner the New Tourism Foundation (NTF), a non-profit registered body in organising the online Tourism Students Festival (TSF 20) on October 16 and 17. The two-day virtual event is aimed to achieve the larger goal of bringing industry, academia and students of tourism into the mainstream for accelerating growth of tourism in the country.

The decision to make AMU as the partner institution in the event was approved by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.

“Five AMU students, Shahrukh, Rahul Chauhan, Sibtey Sughra, Raghav Arora and Ashish Singh pursuing Masters of Tourism and Travel Management (third semester) will be volunteers in the festival. They will be provided with experience certificates and recommendation letters from the NTF,” said Prof Imran Saleem, Dean, Faculty of Commerce.

Professor Nawab Ali Khan, Chairman, Department of Commerce said: “The event will have separate sessions on Community and Sustainable Tourism, Technology in Tourism, Consumer Behaviour, MICE Tourism, Destination Marketing, Tourism Journalism, Influencers, Bloggers and photographers, Tourism Research, Adventure and Sports Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Brand Incredible India, Gastronomy Tourism and Civil Aviation among other topics.”

Prof Sheeba Hamid (Coordinator, MTTM and Coordinator, TSF AMU) informed that the Speakers at the event will comprise the Minister of Tourism and Secretary, Tourism, Ministry, Government of India; thought leaders of travel, tourism and hospitality industry; faculty from tourism education institutions and young professionals. There will also be lively sessions by college bands, stand-up comics, folk music ensemble and studio theatre, all on a single virtual platform.
