Amity University Greater Noida & AIBS celebrated the 152nd birthday of the Father of Nation
New Delhi: Today, when the nation is celebrating the 152nd Birthday of the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji with full enthusiasm and joy, Amity University Greater Noida Campus & Amity International Business School celebrated this special day as a day of commitment toward society and the nation.
The celebration starts with national flag hoisting in Amity Greater Noida Campus by Group VC & DG Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh followed by the national anthem and many cultural events.
Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor of Amity Universities welcomed all on behalf of Founder President Amity Education Group Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, and Chancellor Amity Universities Dr. Atul Chauhan and congratulated all on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Ji and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji. Group Vice Chancellor explained the importance of this day to all present and said that we must not forget the sacrifices made by Mahatma Gandhi Ji to get freedom for India, we must value our commitments as Mahatma Gandhi Ji did.
Group Vice Chancellor said that it is only because of the commitments and dedication of Founder President Dr. Ashok K Chauhan that Amity Education Group reached this height. Dr. Singh announced that today we are making a commitment that in the next 3 years, Amity University will be among the top 100 Universities in the world. We are creating a world-class ecosystem where we will create incubators, not job seekers. We will nurture talent and provide all support to them to make their dreams true. This will also eliminate the salary gap between Indian students studying in India and abroad.
Dr. Gurinder Singh further focused on the importance of skill development and said that skill development programs are very strong and it can provide employment to a major part of the nation. Amity under the dynamic leadership of its chancellors working well to uplift the skills of each segment of society and a number of courses and CSR schemes are being conducted by Amity Humanity Foundation to uplift the society.
On this important occasion, Dr. Gurinder Singh announced one very unique initiative in which amity under the guidance of Dr. Ashok Chauhan will adopt elders of 05 villages and will ensure that all the basic needs of elder people are fulfilled. University students will go to villages, meet elders, spend time with them, organize medical camps for them, liaison with Govt. officials for solving their problems, and uplift their living standards. Dr. Singh mentioned that elder people are the ones who has sacrificed their life for all but when they need our support, they are being neglected. We at Amity, develop a culture among our students where Grandparents and elders get proper respect.
Group Vice Chancellor cited the saying of Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan “together we can change” and said if we want some change in society, first of all, we should start that change from ourselves.
