Amity University Students Attempted A World Record for Ad-Making Competition – AD-VANTAGE

Amity School of Communication had organized one day workshop and competition “AD-VANTAGE – AD. FILM MAKING COMPETITION” at Amity University, Mumbai, campus. The successful interactive workshop and competition was organized with the objective of attempting a world record by the students of Amity University Mumbai under the guidance of ace Ad. Maker Lloyd Baptista by making ‘Most numbers of Ad-Films, in the least span of time for multiple global brands.’ The event was everything from C2C – Concept to Completion, Script to Screen, under the guide ship of Lloyd Baptista.

 

With a total of 16 teams participating, the selection of their categories for the Ad. films was decided by the fishbowl process. The categories for the competition included :Communication Device, Automobiles, FMCG, Lifestyle, F&B. After the process of selection of category these teams were given 25 minutes to create an advertising pitch for their products. The experts guided the students for the competition by giving them necessary inputs like; “Think out of box, focus more on the concept – concept comes first then comes the USP of the product.

 

This resulted in the formation of 14 Groups = 14 Stellar AD. FILMS (Global Brands) successfully created in a record time of 4 hours by the students. Under normal circumstances, ad-Film making process takes anywhere from 4 to 6 months from the seed to fruition and with the high-end professionals, But Amity Students churned out the same in a meager span of 4 hrs.

 

After 4 hours, 14 of 16 teams submitted their Ad. films for which were further screened and judged by the jury. The ads made by the students were top-notch, something which was beyond everybody’s expectations considering the amount of time given to them. The students of Amity portrayed various levels of creativity while creating their ad. Films in such a short span of 4.5 hrs, concept to completion to exhibition including product shots, still and videography.

 

The Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) A.W Santoshkumar motivated students with his profound speech. He said, “Ad films are the latest and shortest depicts you’ll ever see. Making an Ad film is a great job, and indeed a very fascinating one to pursue.“

 

The Officiating. Head of Institution of Amity School of Communication and Amity Film School Dr. Nima John said, ‘There are no boundaries to creativity. It is limitless with enth number of possibilities.”

 

The competition was judged by an esteemed jury of Industry experts Mr. Jerrit Gregory John, Mr. Sanjeev Talpade, Mr. Shelraj Patel, Mr. Jishi Jacob.
