AMU Alumni Association Qatar holds a virtual condolence meeting for Mohammed Habibun Nabi a prominent community leader

Doha: A virtual condolence meeting was held on 20thOctober 2022 by AMU Alumni Association Qatar on the sad demise of Mohammed Habibun Nabi on 17th October 2022 because of severe cardiac arrest in Aligarh.

The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. Sadiq Khan followed by Dr. Ashna Nusrat keynote address on the life and achievements of Late Mohammed Habibun Nabi.

Dr. Nadeem Zafar Jilani, President of AMU Alumni Association Qatar welcome the guests and invited them for tribute to Mohammed Habibun Nabi.

Prof. Razaullah Khan (Former Principal, Engineering College) Aligarh Muslim University and tutor of Habibun Nabi expressed his grief on the sudden demise of Mohammed Nabi, while offering heartfelt sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family. He also mentioned that Aligarh Muslim University and the Alumni association Qatar stands shoulder to shoulder with the family in this difficult time.
Prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist Hassan Chougule mentioned about his passion for community services and his sudden death was a shock for him.

The Managing Director of Al Sulaiman jewelers Mr. Azim Abbas expressed his condolence and briefed about his close ties with Habibun Nabi in various community services.

E P Abdurrahman Managing Director of Care N Cure also expressed his shock about the sudden death of Habibun Nabi and informed that he booked his ticket to Aligarh few days back to meet him physically and attend Sir Syed Day function together.

Jawed Ahmed, Chairman AMUAAQ and Advisor of International AMU Alumni affairs committee, AMU Aligarh expressed his deep sorrow on the sad demise of Mohammed Habibun Nabi, who was the Former Chief Advisor and President of Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association .While paying tribute to him he said that Habibun Nabi sahab was a man of remarkable personality and his tremendous contributions towards community services will be remembered by one and all. Mr. Ahmad also mentioned that in his last meeting with Mr. Nabi in Aligarh, he promised that he will be back to Doha for AMUAAQ Sir Syed Day and FIFA 2022.
Nilanshu Dey (Former ISC and ICBF, President) while paying tribute to him said “We are mourning the loss of a wonderful human being who was both kind and cheerful at all times. He was an ardent community volunteer. “Nabi was always energetic and vibrant and had a flair to make friends.

Mrs Sophia Bukhari recalled her late Husband Mr Sabih Bukhari’s close relations with Mr Habib and prayed that the two friends would be together in Paradise.

Vinod Nair President ICBF also remembered him and added about his charismatic personality and charming smile and his never ending spirit for community services.

P N Babu Rajan (President ICC Indian Embassy Qatar) said Nabi was a close personal friend who had held on to noble values all through his life .
“We have lost a good friend and a great human being. He was always there to support and implement any good initiative for the community. He used to make it a point that such an activity is done and the benefits reach the targeted audience on time,” His ever-smiling face is deeply rooted in our minds and he will remain in our hearts a true friend and a great human being for years to come,”

Milan Arun (Former ICC, President) while paying tribute to him said he was a kind and gentle person. He owned his signature style of presence. On this difficult time on behalf of AMUAAQ we pray almighty give fortitude to his family and give him the highest place in heaven.

Shahabuddin Ahmed, Bazm-e-sadaf Urdu Academy expressed his heartfelt sympathy to Nabi’s family. He reminded us about his contributions for promotion of urdu language as a Patron of Bazm -e- sadaf International.

Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor of AMU sent his condolence message and his unavailability to attend online due to his prior travelling plans. Prof. Sufyan Beg, Principal Engineering college, AMU also sent his condolence message.

Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar former petroleum minister government of India and former civil servant diplomat sent a condolence message and expressed his regret for not attending the online meeting because of travelling.

Dr Nadeem Zafar Jilani President of AMUAAQ conducted the online condolence meeting. He remembered Habib un-Nabi Zaman as an ever-smiling person who was always ready to help others. He said that AMU was very close to his heart and he was associated with organizing many Alumni related events in Qatar and other place.

Daughter Eiman Nabi and son Belal Nabi also managed to join the condolence meeting in this painful situation for their father late Mohammed Habibun Nabi and expressed their feelings and attachment.

The condolence meeting ended by Dua-e Maghfirat from Maulana Basheer Abdul Majid and Dr Nadeem Jilani appeal everyone to join the funeral prayers being organised for Mr Habibun Nabi in absentia in Thumama mosque after Juma prayers by fellow Aligarians and also to be present in ICC for physical condolences of Habibun Nabi jointly organized by all the four Apex body of Indian Embassy Qatar.

Several community leaders joined the meeting across the world and have expressed grief over the death of Mohamed Habibun Nabi who passed away on Monday in India.
