AMU Alumni Association, Toronto award scholarships to University students

 

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Alumni Association, Toronto, Canada under the aegis of SANA Rural Urban Welfare Society awarded scholarships to AMU students of various streams during a special function held at the Conference Hall of the University’s Department of Physics.

Mrs Naila Saeed (President, AMU Alumni Association, Toronto and former President, Women’s College Students Union) said that she has reached heights in her career because of her alma mater. “We at the Alumni Association, Toronto consider it as our duty to pay back our alma mater and these scholarships are our efforts in showing gratitude to AMU,” she said adding that the scholarships are been given to meritorious students from lower economic strata.

Mr S Salman Sayeed (Secretary, SANA Rural Urban Welfare Society and Muzaffarnagar based advocate) pointed out that AMU alumni spread all over the world share a special bond with their alma mater as they are always putting in efforts to provide scholarships and enthusiastically contributing in many other ways.

Mrs Naila Saeed along with Prof Tauheed Ahmad (Chairperson, Department of Physics), Prof Salahuddin Shah, Prof Arif Inam, Prof Nafees Ahmad Khan, Prof Sagheer A Khan, Mr Asad Alam, Prof Isar Ahmad Rizvi and Er. Izharuddin Shah distributed scholarships to 35 girls and 35 boys attending various courses in AMU.

Prof Tauheed Ahmad proposed the voted of thanks, Ms Zainab Ghazi conducted the programme.
