AMU conducts Class XI and Diploma in Engineering entrance exam

 

ALIGARH  : The combined admission test for Class XI (Science Stream)/Diploma in Engineering, and Class XI (Commerce and Arts/Humanities stream) of the Aligarh Muslim University was conducted in a peaceful manner at 36 centres in Aligarh today. AMU also conducted this test at Srinagar, Lucknow, Meerut, Patna, Kolkata, Kishanganj and Bareily centres.

A total number of 28558 candidates appeared in the entrance examination in the morning shift for Science Stream/Diploma in Engineering stream while 33698 candidates had applied for the test.

Eight thousand and twenty one candidates have applied for admission to Class XI Commerce and Arts/Humanities stream.

Mr Mujib Ullah Zuberi, Controller of Examination appreciated the role of faculty members and other functionaries in conducting the test in a peaceful and orderly manner.

AMU had deputed senior faculty members as observers at local centres, while some senior faculty members were appointed overall incharge at the centres located outside Aligarh to supervise the smooth conduct of the admission test.

Special help centres were organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University at important places to provide guidance to the candidates.

The parents of candidates appreciated the efforts of the University authorities for providing cold water and staying facilities.

Special camps were also put up by various NGOs, students and non-teaching bodies to provide drinking water and other necessary facilities to parents/guardians of the candidates who took the test.
