AMU conducts Class XI, Diploma in Engineering entrance tests

 

Aligarh : A very large number of candidates wrote the test for admission to Class XI-Science/ Diploma in Engineering, Class XI-Humanities/Commerce and the Bridge Course at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in nine different cities including Aligarh, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar, Meerut, Bareilly, Kishanganj and Guwahati.

In the first phase (10 am to 12 noon), 22718 students out of 26832 applicants appeared in the entrance test for admissions in the Class XI-Science/ Diploma in Engineering courses in centres across the country. A total of 12830 candidates out of 14659 sat for the Class XI-Science/ Diploma in Engineering tests at various AMU centres.

According to the Controller of Examinations, 9920 boys and 4739 girls had applied to appear for the Class XI-Science/ Diploma in Engineering courses entrance tests in AMU centres.

Meanwhile, 6717 students applied to appear for Class XI-Humanities/Commerce entrance test scheduled in the second phase from 4 pm to 6 pm in centres across the Country and 205 candidates are sitting for the Bridge Course test.

A total of 4502 candidates comprising 2570 male and 1932 female students are applicants for Class XI-Humanities/Commerce test at various AMU centres where 190 students (129 boys and 61 girls) are Bridge Course applicants.

AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor along with other officials visited various entrance test centres in the University campus.

“Senior faculty members were deputed as observers at various AMU centres and as overall Incharges at the centres outside Aligarh. The District Administration provided us with all the necessary assistance for conducting the tests”, said the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.

NSS volunteers and AMU staff organized camps to host the candidates and their parents.
