AMU Doctor Conducts Refresher Courses at Lucknow and Kolkata

Aligarh : Dr. S. Moied Ahmed, Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology and In-Charge, ICU, JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was recently invited to train PG students in the Post Graduate Refresher Courses organised by the Dept. of Anaesthesiology, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow and R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.

These master classes are primarily organized prior to the final exams, to teach and train the final year post graduates how to face practical and viva-voce during the Exit exam.

Dr Moied was given the responsibility to teach post graduates from different medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh, assembled at KGMU, Lucknow. He delivered case-based interactive sessions on Un-anticipated Difficult Airway and was a moderator of four difficult airway cases on how to manage a case of large thyroid mass, temporomandibular ankylosis, Post burn contracture and Foreign Body bronchus. The refresher course was attended by 150 Postgraduates from different medical colleges of UP state.

In Kolkata, the refresher course was organized by Indian Society of Anaesthesologists, West Bengal State Chapter, where Dr Moied taught the post graduates from different medical colleges of West Bengal State assembled at R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata.

He dealt with two long cases on how to manage a patient of morbid obesity, and a patient with Large Thyroid Mass along with two short cases on a patient with COPD posted for Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and a patient with un-anticipated Difficult Airway highlighting all the Difficult Airway guidelines. Around 200 postgraduates attended the Refresher Course.
