AMU faculty chairs session in IECON-2021, Toronto

Aligarh : Dr Mohd Tariq, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) explained the reasons why solar photovoltaic power is gaining momentum as a solution to intertwined air pollution and climate challenges, driven by declining capital costs and increasing technical efficiencies.

He had chaired and organised a special technical session on ‘Emerging Techniques in Design, Optimization, and Interconnection with the Grid for Solar Photovoltaic System’ in the 47th Flagship Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IECON-2021) held in Toronto, Canada.

Creating coherence throughout the diverse presentations by Indian, Chinese, Australian and Singaporean researchers and scientists, Dr Tariq wrapped up the session delineating dynamic spatial trajectory of cost-competitive and grid-compatible penetration potentials for solar power, the overall design and integration of different components such as PV arrays, high gain dc/dc converters and grid-connected inverters among others.

He also discussed the latest research findings and ideas in the areas of Industrial Electronics, and contributions in sustainable development and environment preservation.
