AMU Faculty delivers keynote address at World Medicine Day Event

 

Aligarh : Dr. Farooq A. Dar, the Chairman of the Department of Manafeul Aza at the Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU, delivered the keynote address at the World Medicine Day event. The event, organized by the Institute for Social Harmony and Upliftment, at Hotel Clark’s Awadh in Lucknow to commemorate the 999th year since the publication of “All Qanoon fit Tib,” the Magnum Opus of the medieval Persian polymath Ibn Sina. Mr. Danish Azad Ansari, State Minister of Minorities Welfare, Uttar Pradesh, was the chief guest and Dr. Md. Nafees Khan, Deputy Director of CRIUM Lucknow, was the guest of honor.

Dr. Dar’s lecture shed light on the relevance of Al Qanoon in today’s healthcare landscape. He emphasized how Ibn Sina’s robust philosophy and treatment principles can effectively address the challenges posed by non-communicable diseases, a significant concern in modern healthcare. He also advocated the utilization of various Unani procedures and therapies for managing chronic pain.

Moulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli , Dr. Anis Ansari, IAS(R) and Dr. Kauser Usman from the Department of Medicine, KGMU, also delivered a presentation during the event.
