AMU faculty gets patent

Aligarh: A system for harnessing maximum power from the solar PV panel, developed by Dr Mohd Tariq, Department of Electrical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University, has earned a patent for 20 years by the Patent Office, Government of India.

In his patent titled, “A system for maximum power point tracking based on fractional voltage method”, Dr Tariq has proposed a system for harnessing maximum power from the solar PV panel by maximum power point tracking using power-to-voltage or power-to-current control techniques.

The innovative system will be widely applicable in solar PV power generation system as it depends on variable atmospheric conditions.
