AMU mourns Professor M Mubashir’s demise

Aligarh: Renowned physician and superannuated faculty member of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Professor M Mubashir passed away after a brief illness.

 

He served the university in many capacities such as the Dean, Faculty of Medicine; Principal, JNMC; Director, Medical Attendance Scheme and Chairman, Department of Medicine.

 

“Prof Mubashir will always be fondly remembered for his patient friendly approach and vast wealth of knowledge relating to medicine. He was an exceptional clinician, teacher and human being, who mentored many generations”, said AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor.

 

He added that Prof Mubashir’s demise is a personal loss for him.

 

“Prof Mubashir taught a generation of doctors, treated thousands of patients, and was known for his extraordinary ability to diagnose and treat difficult cases”, said Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine).

 

Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) pointed out: “Prof Mubashir was a great teacher, an excellent clinician, and, above all a good human being. He was a great mentor and role model for his students”.

 

Prof Mubashir published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, wrote book chapters, and edited books.
