AMU School Organises Group Discussion Competition under G20 Series of Events

 

Aligarh : The students’ team from the Senior Secondary School Girls, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) stood 1st in the inter-school group discussion competition organized by AMU ABK HIGH School (Girls), under the G20 series of events, celebrating India’s G20 presidency.

Team AMU ABK High School Girls received the 2nd prize, while team STS School, and team RMPS AMU City School shared the 3rd prize.

The Chief Guest of the event, Prof. Asfar Ali Khan, Director of School Education, AMU encouraged the participants and urged upon them to give meaningful contribution to the society, as the world is looking towards India’s youth with the hope that they are the growth engine of the world.

The Deputy Director, Prof. Qudsia Tahseen shared her views on the topic ‘India’s G20 Presidency and Climate Change’. She also suggested important tips for Group Discussion.

The first round of the Group Discussion was based on a presentation by each team, and the second round saw the participants engage in intense discussion on various aspects of climate change.

The judges applauded the performance of the participants who presented their arguments with conviction and clarity. The final round was based on summarization of the discussion.

Earlier, Dr. Saba Hasan, Vice Principal, AMU ABK High School Girls welcomed the guests.

The event saw participation of nine AMU schools, and Mrs Aysha Imran, Senior Secondary School Boys, and Mrs Yasmeen Rizvi from S. T. S. School judged the competition.

Mrs Amna Malik, Principal, AMU Girls School and Coordinator of G20 Events; Mr. Faisal Nafis, Principal S.T. S. School and Coordinator of G20 events; and Dr. Samina, Principal, AMU ABK High School also graced the occasion.

Dr. Saba Hasan congratulated the winners and thanked the event organizing team including Dr. Farhat Parveen, Mrs Fakhra Yaseen, Mrs Rizwana Khatoon, Mrs Simmi Shahid, Mrs. Arshi Khanam, Mrs Shazia Javed, Mrs Hina Parveen and Mr. Mohd Imran.
