AMU teachers conduct hands-on training at Kannauj

 

ALIGARH  : Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman and Dr. Irfan Ahmad Khan, Department of Pharmacology, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University conducted a hands-on training for skill development in Computer Aided Learning Lab and ACLS/BLS, at a three-day Postgraduate National Workshop (PGNW) on Good Clinical Practices and Protocol Writing organized by the Department of Pharmacology, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Government Medical College (BRRAGMC), Kannauj.

Prof. Rahman demonstrated the computer assisted learning modules for the effect of drugs on the rabbit eye using various computer software. He also highlighted in-vivo methods for screening of ocular drugs for acute and chronic eye irritation/corrosion tests and said that owing to ocular morphology, rabbit is the ideal animal model for in vivo ocular studies in compliance with OECD guidelines for testing of chemicals. He elaborated on the present limitations of this software and how it can be improved.

Dr. Irfan A. Khan demonstrated the effects of drugs on dog blood pressure (vasopressors and vasodepressors with appropriate blockers) using computer-aided learning, and explained the regulation of blood pressure and the various mechanisms involved in it.
