AMU VC distributes Tablets under UP’s ‘Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme’
Aligarh : Professor Mohammad Gulrez, the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, attended a special ceremony organized by the Dean Students Welfare office, where he distributed approximately 350 tablets to the students. This three-day event formed part of Uttar Pradesh’s “Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme 2023,” with around 900 tablets provided to students.
Professor Gulrez emphasized the objective of this initiative, which seeks to empower students pursuing higher education by equipping them with digital devices. Since 2021, a total of 3,900 tablets have been distributed under this scheme, benefiting students across various disciplines.
On day one, tablets were presented to B.Tech and Unani Medicine (Final year) students by Mr. Chandar Sheker, the City Magistrate of Aligarh, and Prof Abdul Alim, DSW, AMU. On the second day, tablets were distributed to PhD and postgraduate students by Mr. Mohd Imran (IPS), Registrar of AMU.
Prof Abdul Alim reaffirmed AMU’s commitment to promoting digital empowerment among its student community.
The tablet distribution program, which commenced on May 24th, successfully concluded yesterday, in which university officials and functionaries were also present.
