Annual Hall Fest organized

ALIGARH  : The secret of an efficacious lifestyle is to have a positive mind and healthy body. Sports related activities provide golden opportunities, keeping these benefits in mind, Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall, AMU organized its Sports Events, under its Annual Hall Fest “Noor- E- Imroz ’23” from 28th Feb to1st March. The inaugural ceremony was held with the Torch Lightening. Several Sports like Badminton, Table-Tennis, Kabaddi, Tug of War, Lemon Race etc. were conducted as a part of Annual Sports Week. The Residents of the Hall participated in large numbers. Ms. Seema Zaitoon, Sports Coach and teacher at Senior Secondary School (Girls) was the judge for the events. .

At the valedictory session the Chief Guest, Prof. Abdul Alim said that it is important to understand that besides academics, sports also play an important role in the life of students. It helps to learn about management of time, organizational skills and improves their self-confidence. Prof Alim along with other guests, planted saplings of “Tamarind” trees in the front ground of the Hall.

Guest of Honour Prof Syed Amjad Ali Rizvi (Secretary Games Committee, AMU) emphasized on the importance of skill development and extra-curricular activities in a student’s life. Focusing on the importance of sports, he said everybody should learn one or the other sport as it is the secret of a positive mind and body.

Special Guest on the occasion Omar S Peerzada (Public Relation Officer, AMU) said that true pleasure of sports lies in playing games and not in victory. While congratulating all the participants, he added that the residents of the hall are excelling in every sphere.

Prof Subuhi Khan congratulated all the participants and expressed gratitude to all the guests for giving their valuable time to join the valedictory ceremony. She said that sports teach us the spirit of never giving up in any situation. She added that sports also help us in learning discipline, hard work, patience, respect, team-work, etc. She applauded the Sports Warden and the Sports Secretary for organizing a successful Sports Week.

Winners of various events includes; Badminton: Zainab Rauf (First) and Larab Naaz (Second); Table-Tennis: (Nabeela Malik (First) and Zainab Rauf (Second); Carrom: Anhar Usmani (First) and Shivani Agarwal (Second); Lemon Race: Arshi Akhtar (first) , Rehnuma Bano (Second) and Mariya Haque (Third); Ludo: Shruti Gupta (First) and Amra Sultan (Second), Dart ; Anhar Usmani (First), Juwairiya Iffat (Second) and FarihaTanweer (Third); Whisper Challenge: Sadiya Rani and Aaliya Akhtar (First) and Aliya Iqbal Khan and Shivani Agarwal (Second); Spike Hunt: Team Shivani (First) and Team Sadiya (Second); Kabaddi: Team Arshi (First) and Team Divya (Second); Tug of War: Team Arshi (First) and Team Sadiya (Second).

The chief guest along with other guests and provost gave away the prizes to the winners. The proceedings were conducted by Ms Ilma Chaudhary.

Dr Zeba Azmat, sports warden delivered the welcome address and the vote of thanks was proposed by the sports secretary Ms Saadia Iqbal.
