Apeejay Stya University Opens New Art Gallery to Nurture Creativity and Promote Art in their Sohna Campus.
The Apeejay Stya University (ASU) accredited A grade by NAAC, Gurgaon, has recently unveiled a new Art Gallery on its Sohna campus. The gallery, which adds a splash of colour and vibrancy to the university, aims to nurture the creative and artistic talents of the students by providing a stimulating platform for their self-expression, while also showcasing the works of renowned artists and experts from myriad artistic disciplines.
The fully adorned gallery was inaugurated by ASU Chancellor Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, and is being hailed as a befitting platform for primarily showcasing the creative potential of the students of the School of Design and Visual Arts, the department to which the Gallery stands dedicated. The gallery will also serve as a calm and serene space for students and faculty of other disciplines and departments of the university, to relax and unwind while developing an understanding and appreciation of the Arts.
On the occasion of her inaugural address at the Art Gallery, ASU Chancellor Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia remarked, “The establishment of this gallery is a testament to Apeejay Education’s long-standing commitment to promoting art and emerging artists. It will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the university and its students.” She congratulated Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. Dhankar, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sucharita, and the faculty, on this new initiative.
The gallery’s opening day was abuzz with activity, and drew a crowd of art aficionados, who were mesmerized by the range of contemporary and traditional paintings and sculptures on display. The enthusiastic participating artists and PhD scholars expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to see their works on exhibit and their delight in sharing their creativity with the public. Dr. Sucharita, Pro Vice-Chancellor at ASU, stated that the gallery would invite and add new exhibits and artefacts on a regular basis, to appear fresh and appealing.
Established by the Apeejay Stya Education Foundation, ASU, provides students not only ‘education for living and livelihood’ but also ‘education for life.
