Ashoka University ranked among Top 5 Private Universities in India in QS Asia University Rankings 2022
New Delhi : Ashoka University has been ranked among the top five private Universities in India in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Asia University Rankings 2022. It has also secured top rank among all Indian Universities on the ‘International Faculty’ indicator. Published annually, QS Asia University Rankings highlights the top universities in Asia, each year. QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) is a global higher education think-tank and compiler of the world’s most-consulted university rankings portfolio.
Sharing her thoughts on Ashoka University being among the top 5 private universities in India in the QS Asia University Rankings 2022, Prof. Malabika Sarkar, Vice-Chancellor, Ashoka University said, “As a Liberal Arts and Sciences University that is less than a decade old, it is a great honour for Ashoka to be placed in the top 5 private universities in India. With our current focus on the Sciences, we hope to bring in even more brilliant students and faculty to strengthen our multidisciplinary research and learning agenda. Ashoka’s outstanding international faculty body has contributed significantly to its success in the QS Asia (2022) Rankings. Some of the indicators that QS Asia University Rankings assesses are academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, citations per paper and papers per faculty, staff with a PhD, proportion of international faculty and proportion of international students, proportion of inbound exchange students and proportion of outbound exchange students. The 687 featured universities on the Asia list can be found in 18 locations across Asia, some of which are in Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Mainland China, and Vietnam among others.
India stands at the second position in terms of number of universities listed on the table, with 118 universities. It is followed by Japan (108) and South Korea (88). The most-represented location is Mainland China with 126 ranked universities.
