Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: GCW Udhampur organizes kite flying contest

 

UDHAMPUR : To commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, a Kite Flying contest was today organized by Government College for Women, Udhampur here on the College Campus.

The programme was held under the supervision of College Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan.

The Principal said that the tricolor kite flying contest is being held to pay glorious tributes to those great souls who fought for the independence of this great nation and to those who laid down their lives to protect its sovereignty and integrity post independence.

The Principal, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff, Students and locals also participated in the kite flying competition in the campus.

Earlier, the college administration provided kites, thread and other allied items to the participants.

Among others, HOD Music, Dr. Seema Sharma, HOD Chemistry, Prof. Kewel Kumar, HOD Zoology, Prof. Sumita Rao, HOD Mathematics, Dr. Ashok Kumar, HOD Geography, Prof. Pooja Bharti and other senior faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
