Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Rajouri Admin organises cultural program cum Mushaira at Darhal
RAJOURI : As part of the ongoing Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and RDA today organised a Mega cultural program cum Mushaira here at Darhal.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Kumar Shavan was the Chief Guest, while DDC member Darhal, Iqbal Malik; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CEO Tourism, Vivek Puri; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; District Culture Officer, Dr Alam Dar besides other officers and officials from different departments attended the programme.
During the cultural programme, the local artists including Shabir Ahmed; Aftab Mir; Sajid Qaom Wani; Hanisa Krem; Ashish Kumar; Prabad Bali; Sahil Mehra; Perwaiz Malik; Kartar Chand; Muzammil Hussain; Shabnam Naz; Sageer Chowdhury; Arief Malik and Shazzad Mir presented a musical programme featuring patriotic and folk songs in Gogri, Pahari, Hindi and Dogri.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the concerned departments for organizing such a grand cultural event and said that the promotion of the heritage and cultural activities are getting focused attention.
He said that a range of events have been planned by the District Administration to showcase the culture and tourism potential of the area.
“The Government of India launched ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements,” he informed.
He said in Rajouri people speak different languages and the objective is to promote local languages and showcase positives. This also provides a platform for the local artists to harness their potential.
