Azadi ka Amrut Mahostav: GCW Gandhinagar concludes weeklong online events

JAMMU : Government Postgraduate College for Women, Gandhi Nagar today concluded the weeklong series of online events held under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ India @75.
Principal Dr. Sangita Nagari hailed the students for celebrating the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on the eve of the 75th Independence year of India with great enthusiasm.
During the week-long activities, the red ribbon club of women college in association with J&K AIDS control society, H&ME Department, Jammu, organized a series of online events from 12 Aug 2021 to 20 Aug 2021. These online events consisted of four intra-college promotional video contests.
The themes of the online events were based on an awareness campaign of HIV, an online slogan writing contest for TB, online poster making competition for Blood donation and an online mask making event for Covid, Dr Nagari said.
Dr Nagari informed that a total 150 students participated with full enthusiasm during the online event. She appreciated them for their efforts, contribution and also motivated them to take part in such activities in future also.
Winners were evaluated by Intra college jury members, she said. The cash winning prizes for first, second and third positions of worth Rs. 1000, Rs. 750 and Rs 500 respectively were given for each event and it will be transferred into the respective winners account through Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT), she added.
Dr Revika Arora, Nodal Officer said, ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The citizens of India should cherish its Independence, as it was obtained after years of struggle. Government Postgraduate College for Women, Gandhi Nagar accomplished it successfully with the help of Principal guidance and contribution of team members.
Prof. Neelima, Prof. Manmeet, Prof. Abhinav, Prof. Ambica, Prof. Kusum, student committee Ivanka Raman, Shalini and others were the team members, she said.
