Bengaluru-based SaPa, a global leader in music education eyes domestic expansion; launches its first Centre of Excellence in Mumbai and the 3rd in India

Mumbai:  A global leader in music education Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts or SaPa as it is widely known launched its first Centre of Excellence in the city and the third one in India. The first two Centres are located in Bengaluru. The new Centre, located at Andheri West, will be grooming young talent in music in line with SaPa’s goal of equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the diverse and constantly evolving realm of music. This is done by combining traditional and modern teaching methods, thereby providing a comprehensive and well-rounded education in music.

 

The new Centre will run live classes which include, Parent-Toddler Program which involves music, activities, and ‘fun bonding’ exercises for parent and their toddlers. This course is suitable for children between the ages of 1.5 to 3 years and their parents who want to spend quality time with their toddlers while exploring the world of music. The Centre will also have Carnatic Vocal Music Classes for Children from the age of 6 and above, where the lessons will be taught by Carnatic Music Experts.

 

Speaking during the launch, Bindu Subramaniam, the CEO and Co-founder of SaPa said, “We are delighted to announce our presence in Mumbai with the launch of this first Centre of Excellence in the city. Mumbai city has a flourishing entertainment industry providing numerous opportunities for singers to establish a career in music and SaPa’s teaching methods which are dynamic and research-driven are designed to help learners chart a long and fulfilling musical path. Besides music festivals and live events, Mumbai is the hub of the Indian Film industry where singers can explore opportunities. We are glad to nurture singing talent here and help them make a career in the sector while we look forward to establishing more Centres in the city.”

She further added, “Our programs are designed to teach children from a very young of 1.5 years, thus providing students with a strong foundation making it easier to pick up new skills as they grow and progress.”

 

Besides SaPa Centres of Excellence, SaPa works in several different ways in music education, that include SaPa in Schools (SiS), SaPa Outreach, and Higher Education in Music. SaPa currently works with over 30,000 children, and in addition to teaching, the organization has its own curriculum, methodology, teacher training, and certification.

 

Everything at SaPa, right from its in-house developed curriculum to its stuffed toy tamburas and baby Dikshitar illustrations for the younger learners, revolves around making music enjoyable. The Academy’s goal is to ensure that music is an integral part of the student’s day and that they have fun while growing into professional musicians.
