BEST Theater is a participant of Culture Climate Change creative projects pitching

In February-March, 3 stages of the Culture Climate Change pitching took place within the framework of the CULTA project.
The main idea of the competition project is to propose a project that could unite people after the pandemic and support the application of Oulu for the status of the European Capital of Culture 2026, the winner receives a grant of 2026 euros for implementation.

The pitching participants spoke about the stages of their participation in the project:

The first stage: a written application, in which we proposed the idea of an immersive theater on the theme of “Kalevala” within the framework of the T-ART festival, was successfully overcome. Second stage: video presentation of our idea in a strictly limited time (1 minute), and we reached the final! The third stage: it was necessary to prepare another video presentation (up to 3 minutes) about the project.

Alexandra Buryanina, student of the Institute of Foreign Languages:

Having a business that you love (T-ART festival), hatching plans for its implementation and grabbing any opportunity to give it life – this is how you can describe the work of BEST in addition to conducting trainings and preparing performances. Personally, I really want the festival of amateur theaters “T-ART 6” to take place, so I accepted the offer of our head Nadezhda Petrovna Shablikova to participate in the international pitching of projects with joy and excitement. During the month of the competition, we shot two videos, each of which I want to review, they are in themselves like a work of art.

Nadezhda Shablikova, Associate Professor of the English Language Department of the Institute of Foreign Languages, Head of the Bolshoi Student Experimental Theater (BEST):

Our theater is 18 years old, participation in such an interesting international project is a new point of growth for us. We were among the 8 finalists from Russia and Finland, I think this is a good result, especially in the current working conditions (the theater has been conducting classes on the ZOOM platform since March last year). We are planning the T-ART-6 festival at the end of November 2021 and really hope that we will succeed. I would like to thank Denis Pyzhikov, head of the development department (KRINPO) , for the offer to participate in the pitching, and Evgeny Mudretsov, the leading videographer of the PetrSU Media Center for creating videos, and all the students who took part in the filming.
