BHIS Students bring laurels at National-level Math Bee competitions

Mumbai:  Five students of Billabong High International School, Malad bagged multiple laurels at a national level Math Bee competition recently held in the city.

Aarav Nahar (Grade 4) ranked the Best performer in Category 4; while his classmates Ayush Sankaran and Shashwat Vatsa ranked 7th in Category 3 and 10th in Category 3 respectively. In addition, Aayat Mahajan (Grade 2) ranked 7th in Category 1 while, Vivaan Jain (Grade 5) ranked 5th in Category 4.

Mars International Math Bee competition progressed through various stages – comprising of School Level, Inter School, State and then the National Levels – and spanned over an year. More than a thousand children from Grade 1-12, across top schools of the country participated in the competition. 200 participants qualified for the National level finals.

Congratulating the students on their achievement, Dr Madhu Singh, Principal, Billabong High International School, Malad, said, “We encourage our students to explore and learn beyond the textbooks. These programmes provide a window of opportunity for students to experience and introduce new ideas. We are proud of the achievements of our students; and would like to congratulate every participant who dared to go beyond their comfort zone and chose to compete in this Championship.”

Mars International Math Bee (MIMB) is a wide-ranging math competition for school students organized by MaRRS with an objective of instilling interest for mathematics among the students.
