Breastfeeding week observed at UHTC

ALIGARH : The Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), Department of Community Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University organized several programmes including poster making, video presentation and counselling for lactating mothers, marking the breastfeeding week.

Dr Suboohi Afzal, CMO Incharge, UHTC informed that Dr Shivangi and Dr Hira made video presentations on the benefits of breastfeeding and myths attached to breastfeeding.

A counselling session was also held for the lactating mothers and their families to educate them regarding the disadvantages of bottle feeding and how to prevent this practice. The interns also discussed the various aspects of breastfeeding to infants and young children.

Gifts were also given to mothers who have practised breastfeeding and have immunised their babies up to the age of one year.
