Card Making Competition to commemorate International Women’s Day

To commemorate the International Women’s day 2022, Department of Sociology, GDC Sidhra under the under the aegis of IQAC and the banner of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” organized an Online Intra College ‘Card Making Competition’ on the theme ‘Thank the Valuable Women of Your Life’ on 4th March, 2022. The programme was conducted under the patronship and able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, Principal, GDC Sidhra. The competition was organized with a thought to strengthen the social relations which to a great extent are getting weaker in the modern scenario. The modern generation takes everything for granted. So with an aim to make them realize the value of relationships and to inculcate in them the feeling of paying gratitude to the ones who care for them the students were involved in this activity. The students from different semesters participated enthusiastically in the competition. Participants expressed their ideas and emotions beautifully and prepared highly thematic cards which were adjudged by Prof. Deepa Kak, Department of Education and Dr. Anshu Gupta, Department of Environmental Studies.
The result of the competition was declared on 9th March 2022. First position was bagged by Shishu Pal of B.A. Sem III, Ritika Sharma and Neha Khokhar of B.A. Sem I, second position was shared by Pranav Verma of B.A. SemV, Irshad Akhter of B.A. Sem III, Sajid Ahmed and Harsh Dev of B.A. Sem I, and third position was secured by Usaib Qayoom of B.A. Sem I. The winners of the competition were given merit e-certificates. Principal, GDC Sidhra Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma congratulated all the winners and participants and encouraged them to participate in such activities in future too.
This competition was organized by Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Head, Department of sociology of the college.
