Central University of Punjab’s Environmental Science Professor shines in the list of World’s Top Scientists Rankings

 

Bathinda: Prof. V.K. Garg, faculty of Department of Environment Science and Technology at Central University of Punjab has been named among Top 2% Indian Scientists in Environment Sciences discipline in the database of over 1 Lakh top Scientists of the World. The subject wise-analysis in this database has been conducted by the team of Stanford University, USA led by Dr. John PA Ioannidis and the same has been published by reputed Journal ‘PLOS Biology’ on 16th October. This database has been prepared on the basis of standardised citation indicators such as information on Citations, H-index, co-authorship and a composite indicator. As per this database,

In this study, Prof. V.K. Garg ranked at 15th in India and 698th worldwide in the list of top scientist of Environmental Science discipline. He has published around 157 Research papers with 13500 plus citations and overall C-Score of 3.4.

Prof. V.K. Garg has done his Doctoral in Chemistry from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. In his professional career of 28 years, Prof. Garg set benchmarks in teaching & research the field of environmental sciences. He played a key role in establishing Radioecology Centre at Guru Jambheshwar University Hisar. He handled various Research Projects with research grants more than 10 Crore. One of the many achievements of Prof. Garg is that his own self-developed MOOCs course on SWAYAM ‘Solid and Hazardous Waste Management’ has been rated among the 10 outstanding online courses in the world in the year 2020 & Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted to congratulate him for creating high-quality content with 530 videos for this course.
