Elsa Cassette, researcher in physical chemistry specializing in photophysics at the Light, Matter and Interfaces laboratory (LuMIn) under CNRS supervision – Paris-Saclay University – ENS Paris-Saclay and CentraleSupélec. She won the CNRS 2022 bronze medal for her work on the light-matter interaction within chemically synthesized semiconductor nanomaterials to identify and control parameters of interest in these materials.

Since her recruitment at the CNRS, she has focused on the study of halogenated perovskites, very promising materials for the future of optoelectronic devices (solar cells, LEDs, etc.). She is particularly interested in colloidal nanoplatelets, two-dimensional crystalline nanostructures in solution with a thickness of only a few monolayers (a few nanometers or less).
