Chairperson DDC chairs hand holding session of JJM at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR :- District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur, Lal Chand today chaired hand holding session of Jal Jeevan Mission for dissemination awareness among all the PRI members, Anganwadi Workers, Asha workers being members of the Panchayat Pani Samities members at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.
Vice Chairperson DDC, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh, DDCs, BDCs and other officers of various departments participated in the session.
More than 200 stakeholders including PRIs, Pani Samiti members, Health Department, ASHA workers Aanganwadi workers, District Project Management Unit JJM Staff, Implementation Support Agency, Water Testing lab staff,
The ADDC Udhampur conducted the proceedings of the programme. Superintending Engineer (Member Secretary District Jal Jeevan Mission) Udhampur during the welcome address highlighted the importance of the awareness programme besides presenting the achievements of the District under Jal Jeevan Mission.
Sajal Shrivastav, expert from PMC, highlighted the different aspects of Jal Jeevan Mission, water management, over-all water conservation measures required to ensure adequate, clean tap water to every household.
The role and duties of different stakeholders including Pani Samities, best practices of water management including Rain Water Harvesting was discussed in detail with the audience through Audio Visual aids. Live demonstration of Water Testing on Field Testing Kits was also presented by Water Testing Staff.
While addressing the session, Chairperson DDC gave details of the Jal Jeevan Mission program launched with the aim to provide HAR GHAR NAL SE JAL and asked the PRIs to extend full support to ensure successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission program. He also explained the role of Pani Samities in implementation of the JJM and emphasised the need of coordination among the Jal Shakti Department and, Pani Samities and the general public in getting the smooth execution of the works on ground to ensure completion of all the JJM schemes. He further advised the Engineers of the department to ensure quality construction as per standard specifications.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairperson DDC, Juhi Manhas Pathania appreciated the efforts of Jal Shakti Department and sought active participation of the PRIs and Pani Samities for achieving the targets under JJM being the Flagship Programme of the Honourable Prime Minister of India.
