Chennai: Mr. Israel Jebasingh, IAS, Founder and Director, Officers IAS Academy (Anna Nagar), recently addressed the students of KCG College of Technology, Karapakkam. He talked on the topic “Civil Service as a Career” and shared his experience and expertise in Civil Service Examinations. He interacted with select group of students and cleared their doubts on how to approach UPSC examinations.
Mr. Israel said, ‘Civil Service is a much better option when compared to IT as it gives an opportunity for a Civilian to improve the existing social, economic, infrastructural and civic conditions by contributing to policy decisions on welfare and development of society. At first, it can be little harder for the students while preparing for the Civil exams but focus and burning determination are the key to success. He added that understanding of concepts are highly appreciated rather than memorising. A year of intense study after graduation, will help attain desired results. He also advised the students to read NCERT books, newspapers and publications of the Publications Division of the I&B ministry to update themselves.
