CM Kamal Nath’s address at Shabri Jayanti Samaroh and Adiwasi Sammelan
Bhopal : The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that a new history of development will be created in tribal areas. Well thought out plans will be prepared to stop migration, to provide employment and to ensure reasonable prices for local produce. Shri Kamal Nath was addressing the function held on the occasion of Mata Shabri Jayanti and Adiwasi Sammelan at tribal dominated district Dindori.
Shri Kamal Nath stated that the schemes which were prepared for the development of tribal areas have been gathering dust for years, their benefits will be extended to the tribals by implementing such schemes. This was said by Shri Kamal Nath in the context to the plan of providing benefit of Narmada River to Dindori district also at the time of construction of Bargi Dam. This scheme has cost Rs. 10 thousand crore. He said that the aim of the government is to do all-round development of the state’s tribal community. They should not have to go out in search of work. The Government is making efforts in this direction that they should have employment at home and in the village itself, he added.
Mata Shabri is a symbol of humanity and simplicity
The Chief Minister said that Mata Shabri is a symbol of humanity and simplicity. This is the reason, why the tribal community has immense reverence and faith towards her. He said that this is the most pious day, when tribal youths should take a pledge that they will adopt tribal culture and will always keep their glorious history intact. He mentioned that despite various races in tribal community, the unity that exists in the tribal community is the power of their culture and rituals, which was adopted and preserved by the elders. The Chief Minister said that tribal community has become a participant in the development process. The need is that the tribal community and its representatives should raise their voice and join the mainstream of the society for their rights.
New policies implemented in employment and agriculture sector
Shri Kamal Nath informed that a new atmosphere of investment has been created in the state to safeguard the future of youth, who have the responsibility of building Madhya Pradesh and the country. New policies are being implemented in the agriculture sector so that farmers get rid of their debts and get right prices for their produce. Loans of 22 lakh farmers have been waived under the Jai Kisan Fasal Maafi Wrin Yojana.
Intention and policy to change poor condition of state
The Chief Minister said that the new government has exhibited its intention and policy in the last 11 and half month to improve the condition of empty treasury, inherited by it and poor condition of the state. He said that while facing new challenges in every field, the work is being carried out by the government with new thinking and approach. Relief has been provided to the farmers in Madhya Pradesh, the state which was number-one in farmers’ suicide in the country. New investment is being encouraged in the state to take the youth out from the darkness of unemployment. Shri Kamal Nath said that we are facing every challenge with full vigour. We are working with a resolution that in the coming days, we will make a new map of the state’s development.
Trust the works, not the announcements
The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that he does not believe in announcements. He said that the then Chief Minister of the previous government had made 21 thousand announcements. The whole state knows what happened to those announcements. He said that the general public should also not clap when announcements are made. They should clap, when the work is done in front of them and they feel that there is development and are getting employment. He said that our government believes in doing works not in just announcements.
Keep supporting the truth, you will not be disappointed
The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that the tribals of Mandla and Dindori have always supported the truth. On the strength of the faith and power they have given us, we will never let the people of this region feel disappointed. Shri Kamal Nath said that the government is committed to write a new history of development of Dindori and Mandla.
The District In-Charge of Mandla and Minister for Finance Shri Tarun Bhanot said that despite financial crisis in the state, the country’s largest farmers’ loan waiver scheme has been implemented in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath. He said that the state’s economic condition is challenging. He told that Madhya Pradesh had a debt of Rs 23 thousand crore in the year 2003. The state was under the debt of Rs. One lakh 80 thousand crore, when the new government took control of the state. He further stated that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, a scheme is being made to purchase Kodo and Kutki crops at government level in tribal areas especially in Mandla and Dindori. Similarly, initiative has been taken to start the scheme costing Rs. 10 thousand crore, which was prepared 40 years ago to provide Narmada water to the people of Dindori district.
The Minister for Tribal Welfare Shri Omkar Singh Markam said that the Chief Minister is awlays concerned about the tribal welfare and their interests. In just a short span of his tenure, Shri Kamal Nath has taken several decisions in the interest of tribal like Mukhya Mantri Madad Yojana, Free food grain distribution for social activities in case of death and birth in tribal families and increase in the scholarship amount of tribal students.
The Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri Lakhan Ghanghoriya stated that in just a year, Shri Kamal Nath launched the ‘Aapki Sarkar-Aapke Dwar’ Yojana to take the government and administration to people’s doorstep. In Kanyadan and Nikah scheme, not only the amount has been increased from Rs. 28 thousand to 51 thousand but also arrangement has been made to deposit the amount directly to bank accounts to ensure that this amount is received by poor girls. We are making efforts to ensure that the people of the state should get pure food. Constant campaign is being conducted to ensure that people should not get fake medicines and they should be free from mafia.
Chief Minister had Shabri’s Ber
The President of Pragatisheel Kaul Mahasabha Shri Makhan Lal Saraiya served Shabri’s Ber to the Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath at the function. At the beginning, the Chief Minister was welcomed with tribal tradition. The tribal community greeted the Chief Minister in a traditional way by offering a jacket.
The Chief Minister dedicated products of Kodo-Kutki, produced under the Livelihood Mission by the tribal women self-help groups. He distributed benefits of Mukhya Mantri Swa-Rozgar Yojana besides other schemes. Shri Kamal Nath distributed loan waiver certificates to the farmers under the second phase of Jai Kisan Fasal Wrin Maafi Yojana. The loans worth Rs. 38 crore 19 lakh of the farmers have been waived in Dindori under the first and second phase of the scheme. During the function, Shri Kamal Nath has also dedicated and laid foundation of development works costing about Rs. 35 crore.
Members of Legislative Assembly, President of Pragatisheel Kaul Mahasabha Shri Makhan Lal Saraiya, Shri Vishwanath Kaul, Sushri Kaushalya Goutiya and members of Tribal community in large number were present on the occasion.
