Conference on Discoursing Education for Mental Health

 

Aligarh : Department Of Education, AMU, Malappuram Centre in collaboration with Department Of Education, University of Kerala recently organised a two day International Conference on the theme “Discoursing Education for Mental Health”.

The Chief Guest on the occasion Prof Sajid Jamal, Department of Education, AMU, highlighted the importance and relevance of Mental Health conference in the present Covid 19 situation. Dr Faisal KP, Director, AMU MC inaugurated the function.

The conference programme was divided into 6 Plenary Sessions and 5 technical sessions. The Resource Persons of the 6 Plenary Sessions were Carlos Trindade from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Prof Nasrin, Department of Education, AMU, Dr Maxwell D Uduafemhe, Principal Research Officer, National Open University of Nigeria, Prof Mohammad Amjad Kamal from Novel Global Community Educational Foundation, Australia, Dr Noora Abdul Kader, Department of Education, AMU and Dr Rommel V Tabula, Faculty of Education, University Bangkok, Thailand.

The Chairpersons for the 5 Technical sessions were Dr Mohammed Basheer, Coordinator, Department of Education AMU, MC, Dr Jubilee Padhmanabhan, Faculty of Education, Central University of Punjab, Dr Muhammad KV., School of Pedagogical Sciences
Mahatma Gandhi University, Dr Bindu D, University of Kerala, Dr Faisal KP, Director, AMU MC, Dr Dorilal, Jamia Millia Islamia, Dr Johnson, Alagappa University and Dr Sindhya V, University of Kerala. From each session one best paper was selected for the paper award. In total 35 papers were presented during the conference.

Prof Mujiibul Hasan Siddiqui, Chairperson and Head, Department of Education, AMU, was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. He appreciated the event and mentioned the significance of catering mental health in the current scenario.

On each day around 125 participants were there in each session. The speakers and participants appreciated the efforts of the organising team for promoting the mental health

Dr Mohammed Basheer, Coordinator, Department of Education gave the welcome address and Prof Geetha Janet Vitus, Professor and Dean, Department of Education, University of Kerala presided the session.
