CoronaVirus Outbreak: IIM Kashipur postpones convocation

Kashipur: Several advisories that have been issued from the Central and State government as well as from the University Grants Commission to avoid mass gatherings in view of the recent cases of Coronavirus across the world. In view of these circumstances and in order to guard the community of students, faculty, and staff and guests from any unwanted risks the Board of Governors of IIM Kashipur have decided to postpone the Convocation for the time being.

“We all were preparing for the Annual Convocation in full swing. The whole IIM Kashipur community along with the Board of Governors especially the students were eagerly looking forward to the event. We hope to hold the Convocation once the situation improves, said Prof. K M Baharul Islam, Dean (Academics), IIM Kashipur

The administration and wellness team of IIM Kashipur has been taking precautionary measures by making students aware of the same and hand sanitizers, N-95 masks are being made available to the students. The ceremony of the 8th convocation was supposed to take place on 21st March 2020. The chief guest for the event, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India was to deliver the Convocation address.
