CUET 2023: Registrations closed, more than 50% rise in female applicants, registrations go up by 41%

Common University Entrance Test, CUET UG 2023 exam dates have been announced. This year, more than 16.85 lakh students have registered for the exams. Over 14 lakh students have submitted the application form along with the fee. CUET recorded an increase in the number of female registrations by over 50 per cent.

 

National Testing Agency will conduct the CUET-UG exam from May 21-23, 2023 as per the official notification. Candidates can check the complete information on CUET 2023 on its official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in. CUET UG Admit Card will be released on the official website. Students can check the participating universities on the CUET website.

 

“We are pleased to see an increased number of female registration in CUET 2023. The overall increase in the number of registrations is good news for the country. The registration process for CUET commenced on February 9, 2023, and concluded on April 11, 2023. CUET-UG recorded an increase of 41 per cent in registrations compared to last year. The female applicants were 50 per cent more, whereas the male applicants were over 34 per cent as per the statistics on April 6, 2023. Registration was reopened on April 9 and students could submit online applications till April 11, 2023. Earlier, the registration process ended on March 30. NDA re-opened the process on student’s demand.

 

Out of 14 lakh student applications, over 6.5 lakh applications were submitted by females and 7.48 lakh were from males. In the year 2022, 4.34 lakh girls and 5.56 lakh boys registered for CUET UG. A substantial increase in the number of applications was recorded from the ST category. The number of participating universities has also increased this year.

 

CUET UG 2023 recorded a jump in the number of applicants from Jammu & Kashmir. Most of the registrations were recorded from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Bihar. The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Mode or CBT mode. The entrance test will include objective-type questions- Multiple Choice Questions, MCQs. The exam will be held on multiple days and in three shifts in a day. Reserved dates for the CUET UG exam are June 1 to June 7, 2023.
