CUO Scholar receives “Professor Baidyanath Mishra Best Paper Award- 2023”

Ms. Manisha Gupta, Ph.D. Research Scholar (Ph.D.) of the Department of Economics, Central University of Odisha was conferred with “Professor Baidyanath Mishra Best Paper Award- 2023” along with a cash prize of ₹10,000 in the 55th Annual Conference of Orissa Economics Association. The conference was held at Kalahandi University on 11th-12th February 2023.

Her research paper on the topic “Bauxite Mining and Food Security: A micro-analysis in Koraput District, Odisha” was selected for the award. The research paper is the collective work of her and Dr. Minati Sahoo, Research Supervisor and Head (I/c) of Department of Economics, Central University of Odisha. The work is an attempt to study the impact of bauxite mining on the food security of the local people in the mining region of the Koraput district of Odisha.
