CUO to open Tribal Library, Museum and Research Centre
Prof. Chakradhar Tripathy, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Odisha called on Her Excellency The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday on 18.01.2023 and proposed to open a world-class tribal library, archaeological museum and research institute in Koraput. There was a positive discussion with Her Excellency the President of India in this regard and appreciated the academic initiative of the Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Tripathy is quite optimistic that the Centre will be set up in this university as soon as possible and it will help in the field of conservation and research on the language, culture and knowledge of the tribal people in the region and across the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that most of the posts of permanent teachers and staff in the university have not been filled up. The lack of senior teachers has affected a lot in the teaching and learning process. In view of all this, the university is in the process of appointing senior visiting professors in various departments in an effort to make qualitative academic teaching and learning. The university is going to publish an advertisement as soon as possible to fill up the posts of permanent teachers and staff.
In order to promote sports in the university, a permanent sports Professor is being appointed. To take the university sports to the international level, Prof. Jatinkumar Harjivandas Soni, former Vice-Chancellor of Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, is being appointed the Visiting Professor. Presently, under his supervision, the construction of the sports complex in the University is going on. The University is also trying to engage international researchers to conduct research on indigenous cow milk, which is expected to cure the cancer disease described in the Veda.
Prof. Tripathi, the Vice-Chancellor of CUO is quite optimistic that the University will march forward within a year.
