DC Baramulla kick-starts 05 days Training Prog on ‘School Health and Wellness’
Teachers have significant role in shaping the lives of Students: Kumar
Baramulla: In a significant move to acquaint the teachers about different means and methodologies with regard to health and wellbeing of students, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today kick started five days long training programme themed ‘School Health and Wellness’ at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Baramulla.
The programme has been organised by Chief Education Office Baramulla in collaboration with health and other concerned authorities in which the resource persons from across the district are scheduled to participate.
After inaugurating the training programme, the DC complimented the education and other sponsored departments for organizing the event having much significance in the present circumstances. He added that such programmes will help our students to get the requisite education about their physical as well as mental well-being.
The DC added that teachers have a significant impact on the lives of students and emphasized upon them to play a productive role through proper guidance and counseling. He said that due attention should be paid to the mental health of the students adding that mental stability of our students has been affected due to the present circumstances emerging from COVID-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdowns.
Moreover, he expressed dismay over the rising graph of teen suicides and said that appropriate initiatives need to be taken for curbing this menace.
Furthermore, Chief Education Officer and Chief Medical Officer also spoke at the programme wherein they highlighted the significance of organizing the training session besides giving an overview about their sponsored initiatives and measures taken in this regard.
