DC Kathua discusses mechanism for implementing revised Covid guidelines

Kathua: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Yadav today chaired a meeting to discuss mechanism for operating Public Transport besides opening of Business Establishments in the light of revised Covid 19 advisories and SOPs issued by the government.

President Municipal council, Kathua Naresh Sharma, SSP Kathua R.C Kotwal, ARTO Kathua, AD FCS&CA Haroon, Assistant Labour Commissioner, AC Food Safety, CEO M.C Kathua, DTI Kathua, President Beopar Mandal, Surinder Bajaj, General Manager, Kathua Bus Union, President, Mini Bus Group Union besides President of various Market Association were present.

While speaking on the occasion, the DC called upon the transport unions to adopt a mechanism for plying public transport viz matadors, mini-buses, buses at 50% of its authorised capacity in view of resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the district.

He said the government has issued guidelines for the operation of public transport to half of the capacity to ensure people can avail public transport strictly as per the guidelines of the government on social distancing.

Interacting with representatives of Beopar Mandal and Market Associations, DC Rahul Yadav sought suggestions and co-operation for smooth implementation of the guidelines issued by the government.

The representatives also apprised the meeting about their suggestions for devising mechanisms for opening of shops.

The Deputy Commissioner assured that their genuine concerns will be looked into before arriving at a final arrangement regarding opening of shops. He appealed to them to extend help to the district administration for smooth implementation of government orders and guidelines as done in the earlier phase of Covid-19 wave.

During the meeting threadbare discussions on the prevailing situation of resurgence of Covid-19 wave were held in length.
